In the current situation, it’s normal to feel that things are beyond our control. Here at Phoenix College Málaga, we’re determined that everything that we are able to do is done promptly and is of the highest quality. In less than 24 hours from the start of the current lockdown, our teachers were trained up and giving lessons online. It helped that Phoenix started out as an online support college, so many of our teachers are already experienced at teaching via virtual classrooms and setting directed learning tasks. Our Year 13 students are being supported in these uncertain times as they finish their A level and PCE (Selectividad) courses and prepare for university, and our Year 12s are beginning next year’s courses with grit and determination – and having fun at the same time. And it doesn’t stop there – we haven’t stopped planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year.

We are taking enquiries from interested parents of current Year 11 students (and Year 10 for next year) via email and telephone, and conducting interviews via Skype. Next Thursday (23rd April) at 7pm, we invite you to an Online Open Evening via Webinar, during which we will give you a photographic tour of the College and take questions from those attending. To participate, all you need to do is register for the event… Remember also to keep an eye out for regular updates on our social media page.

We expect that the current situation will improve significantly for everyone over the next few weeks, and we hope to be able to restart lessons in person for Year 12 before the end of June, as well as welcome visitors to our College once more. Certainly, we hope that it will be business as usual for our students for the new academic year in September 2020; however, if not, we are ready to continue online until schools can re-open.

In these unsettled times, it’s important to recognise that there are some things that are not out of your hands, and some decisions that you can still take. One of these is where it would be best for you to do your A levels. At Phoenix College Málaga, we have the commitment, quality and experience to support you every step of the way.
