Work with us
A different place to teach
At Phoenix College Málaga, we look for exceptional teachers who can make our community stronger.
As a small Sixth Form College, our greatest strength has always been the people who make it what it is.
Every teacher brings something unique, and the personality, values and passion of each member of staff shape the experience our students have every day.
Current opportunities: We don’t currently have any advertised vacancies.
However, as an international school, our team naturally evolves over time. Teachers may relocate, embrace new opportunities, retire or begin new chapters in their lives. When those moments arrive, we want to be ready to welcome people who share the same passion, professionalism and commitment that define Phoenix today.
That’s why we are always interested in hearing from exceptional educators. If you believe you’d be a great fit for our community, we’d genuinely love to hear from you, even if there isn’t a suitable opening at the moment.
What you’ll teach: Phoenix College is a Sixth Form College specialising exclusively in Years 12 and 13. Our students study A Levels in small groups and prepare for university in the UK and internationally.
Current subjects: Our curriculum continues to evolve. While we currently teach Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, English, French, Further Maths, Geography, History, Maths, Physics and Spanish, we are always interested in hearing from outstanding teachers in other disciplines. The right person can often inspire new opportunities.
Why Phoenix?
Families and students often tell us that studying at Phoenix feels different. We believe teaching at Phoenix feels different too.
Our classes are intentionally small, allowing teachers to know every student as an individual, adapt their teaching, and build the kind of relationships that make a genuine difference. If teaching is your vocation, rather than simply your job, you’ll understand how rare and rewarding that is.
You’ll become part of a close-knit community where education is everyone’s responsibility. We work together with one shared purpose: helping young people become not only outstanding students, but thoughtful, confident and compassionate adults.
Our teachers have the time and space to teach well. To stop, listen, encourage, challenge and celebrate progress. Education here is personal.
A role that fits around your life
Because Phoenix specialises exclusively in Years 12 and 13, most teaching positions are naturally part-time.
For many professionals, this is one of the greatest advantages of working with us. It offers the flexibility to combine teaching with research, professional practice, postgraduate study, family life or other personal projects, while remaining part of an inspiring educational environment.
More than a teaching job
We believe schools should be guided by values before numbers.
We care deeply about the people who work here, the students who trust us with their future, and the culture we create together every day.
Phoenix is a place where you’ll know your students by name, work alongside colleagues who genuinely care, and feel proud of the impact you’re making.
If that sounds like the kind of school you’d like to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and what attracts you to Phoenix. Even if we don’t have a current vacancy, we’ll be delighted to keep your details on file and get in touch when the right opportunity arises.
We’re not simply looking for excellent teachers. We’re looking for the kind of people our students will remember for the rest of their lives.
What we’re looking for
Qualifications matter. Experience matters.
But neither of those is what makes someone a Phoenix teacher.
We’re looking for people who genuinely enjoy teaching. People who are curious, thoughtful and generous with their knowledge. People who see education not simply as preparing students for exams, but as helping young adults discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming.
Our teachers are approachable, passionate about their subjects and willing to keep learning themselves. They enjoy working closely with colleagues, communicating openly with families and becoming part of a small community where everybody knows one another.
Because our classes are small, teaching at Phoenix requires flexibility, creativity and the confidence to adapt lessons to the individuals sitting in front of you. If you prefer hiding behind a PowerPoint, Phoenix probably isn’t the right place. If you love conversations, questions, debate and seeing students grow in confidence, you’ll feel at home here.
We value kindness as highly as expertise. Integrity as highly as results. Humility as highly as achievement.
Our students deserve teachers who inspire them not only through what they know, but through who they are.
Above all, we’re looking for educators who believe that relationships come first. Because when students feel seen, respected and challenged, exceptional learning naturally follows.
Why Málaga?
For many of our teachers, moving to Málaga wasn’t simply a change of location. It was a conscious lifestyle choice.
They came looking for a different pace of life. A place where professional fulfilment could exist alongside time for family, personal projects, the outdoors and the simple pleasure of living well.
In many ways, Phoenix reflects that same philosophy.
We believe that great teaching doesn’t come from rushing from one lesson to the next or measuring success by how busy we are. It comes from having the time to know our students, to prepare meaningful lessons, to keep learning ourselves and to enjoy the profession we’ve chosen.
If you’re looking for a school where education is valued, relationships matter and work leaves room for life beyond the classroom, Phoenix might be exactly the place you’ve been searching for.
Whether you already live in Málaga or are considering making it your home, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Send us your CV and a short introduction telling us about yourself, your teaching experience and what attracted you to Phoenix. Even if there isn’t a suitable opportunity today, we’d be delighted to keep your details on file for future openings.
